4th fun

Here's some fun for anyone with too much time on their hands! What can I say? I'm a teacher. Happy 4th of July!

Better late than never. . .

I thought I should include some pictures I got sent to me for Easter. I know it is a little late, but it's better late than never. The top one is of Katie's two girls, Tori and Chloe. Then some of Jeff's kids in Virginia: Emma, Ryan, Jaden, and William. I know this is a random layout and I have no idea why they are different sizes. Hopefully you can see it well enough.

A day at the lake

A few weeks ago Tiffany packed up the kids and headed to Pennsylvania to visit her sister who is building a house there. They had a great time visiting cousins and enjoyed their day at the lake. Meet Martin!

Holly was supposed to email me about her and Martin but she didn't. SO RUDE!!! I guess I'll just have to tell ya'll about what I know. So here it goes: Martin Garcia was born and raised in the small farming community of . . . OK!!! So I have NO clue what to say. Holly would be a lot better at this. I know he is in school to be an electrician. I know he drives a truck and swerves to avoid the speed bumps in his neighborhood. I know he has a killer bed with a TV in the ceiling so he doesn't even have to prop
the pillows up to see. I know his mom and dad are freaking hilarious and his dad LOVES me! I'm pretty sure he likes the color pink, enjoys listening to Belinda Carlisle, and taking an occasional long walk on the beach but I COULD be wrong. I, personally, would like to thank Martin for educating all of us, including Holly, on the importance of not calling it "sauce" (i.e. hot sauce, mild sauce, green sauce, etc.) but rather "chile." Martin gets to come meet the family over the 4th of July and we're super excited! As we see it, if he makes Holly happy then we're happy!

Road Trip 2008

Ok. So mom and dad decided that it would be loads of fun to drive the nine hours to Albuquerque and visit Holly. Brooke and Maryn quickly joined in on the fun. We started off at the butt crack of dawn and the first memory I, Brooke, can recall is mom's overly enthusiastic response to the energy generated windmills. Where were they you might ask? Oh, about ten miles from home going into the Spanish Fork canyon! We're off to a GREAT start!!! She was just SO excited to see them. Dad started off driving and then let Brooke take over the navigating so that they could get there before their ETA. Boy was that a wise decision! The first sign of civilization came with a Home Depot and we were finally there and got to see Holly!!! We all had a good time seeing a lot of New Mexico by our own personal travel guide, Martin. He was a great sport and took us all over, including to Santa Fe, Old Town Albuquerque, and even to Madrid where the movie "Wild Hogs" was filmed. Did anyone know that they don't have a sewer system there? Yep, Brooke learned the hard way but that is TMI!!!! Speaking of . . . the next time you see mom you should ask her how her "brush" with nature was. We won't even go there because frankly, I would be laughing too hard to explain anything and she would kill me! Let me just say if she was a wilderness girl she would DEFINITELY have earned a merit badge! And for the record, I tried really hard to get a picture but she threatened me with my life. We'll see if I'm still alive after she reads this blog. Anyway, we were there about five days where we got to know Holly's boyfriend Martin and his parents. Holly lives about two miles from the temple so that was great to be able to go there. I think the highlight of the trip for Maryn was making friends with all the little critters! Who knew there could be so many cockroaches in the hot desert?!?!?! Road Trip 2008 was a great way to start out our summer and Holly says anyone who wants to come visit is more than welcome. Good times are bound to happen!!! Thanks Holly for letting us visit and gracias to Martin and his family for putting up with us U-tards! Oh Holly, have you remembered to feed your fish, Sushi? We don't want him to have another near-death experience!
